Stanton University hires Tamara McDonald as Men's Basketball Head Coach. Breaking barriers, The Elks and Coach Tam will be one of a handful of programs nationwide where a woman will lead a Men's Basketball team. With over a decade of collegiate coaching experience, she's had assistant coach/head coach tenures at the likes of Cal Poly Pomona, Citrus College, University of Washington (NCAA D1, Pac-12) and Loyola Marymount (NCAA D1).
Game #12 in conference was as expected, the fighting Elks came out strong and took a 30-11 lead and never looked back in the 82-65 win over Navajo Tech. Mykale Mundy led SU with a team high 20 points on 7/8 shooting, 6 rebounds, 3 assist and 1 steal.
Solid performances by Sparsh Kadyan, Marcell Galloway and Peter Obodumu. Daniel Ogunbona, Lewis Bennett also played BIG roles in the win.
SU closes out regular season conference play on Wednesday Feb 21st vs Bethesda.
Game #11 in conference play, the Elks come out strong from the start and never looked back, defeating SCLU 103-60 and scoring the most points in SU basketball history.
Troy Green had the second triple-double double in program history with 22pts, 14reb, 10asst, while Mykale Mundy added 22pts, 10asst and 6reb.
The Elks continue to stay alive and will host Navajo Tech on Monday Feb 19th.
Game #9 in conference play was perhaps Stanton's best performance thus far. Scoring 95 points and securing a must-have conference road win to stay alive in the race for final four. Mykale Mundy's Triple-Double (27pts, 11reb, 10asst) was the first of his career and the first ever in Stanton History. Marcell Galloway added 18pts and Peter Obodumu had 14pts.
The Elks look to continue to stay alive Tuesday 2.13.24 at WC Baptist College.
Game #8 in conference play, Elks hosted Top seeded Justice College. First half was a back and forth battle with justice leading 34-22 at the half.
The Elks fought hard to cut lead to 7 with under 10 min to play but couldn't handle a late surge by Justice and fell 66-57.
Mykale Mundy led Stanton with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assist and 2 steals.
With game #7 in conference play, the Elks faced Bethesda University. The winner secures 3rd place in conference. Wire to wire competitive contest in which there were 15 different lead changes and the Elks having a shot at the end to win but came up short in an 81-84 loss.

4 Elks score in double-figures as Stanton gets to 500 (3-3) in SWSIC play defeating Cal Miramar University 84-77.
Peter Obodumu led all scorers with 28 points and 16 rebounds. Troy Green 16 points and 13 rebounds, Marcell Galloway 16 points and 10 rebounds, Sparsh Kadyan 14 points and 6 rebounds. Mykale Mundy added 8 points and 8 rebounds
Stanton looks to get above 500 next Tuesday Jan 30 when they host Bethesda University.
Elks began SWSIC play with losses to top seeded Lincoln University and dropped a buzzer-beater to WC Baptist, but since, the Elks have won 2 of the last 3 games to get back in the conference race to be Top 4, and make the end-of-season tourney.
Stanton will host the next 3 conference opponents beginning January 24 vs Cal Miramar, Jan 30 vs Bethesda and Feb 6 vs SCLU as the race to be Top 4 continues. #LetsGoElks

Mykale Mundy returns to the SU line up after being sidelined for a 4 game stretch due to a knee injury. In his return he rallied the Elks to a respectable 36-17 halftime deficit to D2 opponent Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Daniel Ogunbona led SU with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Andrii Basovets had 10 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists. Mykale Mundy 8 points 2 rebounds, Troy Green 8 points 4 rebounds.
Peter Obodumu was sensational for the Elks leading the team with 16 points, Troy Green added 12 point and 5 rebounds. Sparsh Kadyan played a solid game with 8 points and 7 rebounds as Chapman's second half push was too much for SU in an 88-59 loss.

The Elks look to bounce back vs Chapman on Thursday Dec 7th, then travel to Cal State Dominguez Hills before hosting NAIA Top Seeded Montana Tech on Dec 17th.

Mundy was sensational scoring a team and career high 28 points while also grabbing 4 rebounds and having 3 steals vs Univ of St. Katherine.

The much anticipated game of the season did not disappoint. The Elks took on Park-Gilbert Univ. and held an early first half lead and received outstanding performances from a host of players. The future of Elks Basketball is so bright.
SU travels to UC Merced to take on CalPac's runner-up last season. The Elks battled tough the entire way but couldn't sustain late in the second half and fell 78-47.
The Elks travel to St. George Utah to take on D1 opponent Utah Tech in only the second game in school history.

Inaugural season for Stanton University Elks, Men's Basketball has officially begun. SU will compete in a 29 game season including 2 regular season home games, 8 conference (SWSIC) home games, road games vs D1, D2, D3 and NAIA programs.

The wait is finally over. The 2023-24 Stanton University Men's Basketball Season Schedule is officially released.
The inaugural season will tip-off on Thursday October 26th as the Fighting Elks travel crosstown to take on Life Pacific University. Then SU's next two weeks consists of games at D1 opponent Utah Tech on November 1st in Gunnison, UT and 4 days later at NAIA and CALPAC runner-up UC Merced.
The Elks then host their first ever home game on November 9th as Park University-Gilbert travels to the Jordan Lawley Center in Irvine. This will be one of 10 home games for SU this season.
